Heritage Conference: Song: Carry On

On Thursday night of Heritage Conference as pre-service prayer went on for almost 2 hours. Church did not even begin till 8.15p (Prayer at 6.30p) Then after a quick sermon, altar call went on for a couple more hours.

During the prayer service that went on for some time God laid a song on my heart. Which has been the theme of this conference. "Dreams & Visions" Though more then one preacher touched on the subject it was Br. DC Moody that was the biggest inspiration of this song.

My prayer this week has been simply this...The Dreams of the Elders needs to become the Vision of the Youth! Lord, let me be strong enough to take on this burden!

Carry On

Verse 1
Gray hair and wrinkle brow
He poured out his heart
He had a dream that he knew
He'd never be apart
To the next generation
He hope to establish a foundation
To hold up the standard
He taught about

Chorus
Will you carry the cross?
Will you reach for the lost?
Will you hold up the standards
that have been held up so long?
Will you love like the Lord?
And abstain from this world?
Will you carry, carry on?

Verse 2
The preacher man, preach it out
As they began to sing and shout
They caught the dream and begain to see
What the vision was about
Now this generation
With the firm strong foundation
Stood up and began to proclaim it out

Chorus 2
We will carry the cross
We will reach for the lost
We will hold up the standard
That have been held up so long
We will love like the Lord
And abstain from this world
We will carry, carry on.

This is very powerful! It is my earnest prayer that there be a transfer from our elders to us. Thank you for sharing this beautiful song!
